Following its open orientation, Pump allows you to browse the Web without any restriction. Just type the address of the web-site you want to browse in the URL bar and press enter (or click on the browsing button).
Pump also contains powerfull features of content detection. If a Web page contains some media content, for instance a Flash video, Pump will detect it and display a hint in the top-left corner of the browsing section. By clicking on the link that appears in the header, the grid will appear at the bottom of the web page with the list of content detected.
In the case of audio files, the content can be streamed directly from the Web by clicking on the "Play" button. For video files, you can start the download in one click.
You can select different view settings by clicking on the corresponding view buttons in the header:
Pump allows you to bookmark Web pages. You can do so by clicking on the "Favorites" drop box and then selecting "Add current page to my favorites". A window will appear asking you whether this link is a web link or a media link.
You will find the Web bookmarks in the "Favorites" drop box in the browsing section header. The video bookmarks will appear as part of your library, in the "Videos bookmarks" section of the navigation tree.
Pump supports podcast subcriptions, not only simple video podcasts but also Blogs with linked content and torrent video feeds.
When browsing, Pump detects if a feed is linked from the current Web page and indicates it in the URL bar. When clicking on the RSS icon in the URL bar, a drop box appears where you can select which RSS feed you want to add to Pump.
Selecting the chosen item pops up a window with the corresponding RSS feed URL to add. You can choose to extract the content of the posts and add it directly into your library.
Further options in the "Advanced settings" part of this window that can be displayed by clicking on the triangle button next to "Advanced settings".
You can also add an RSS feed directly by clicking on the [+] sign next to the "Feeds" node in the navigation tree.
